THE DRAMATICS SOCIETY, SRCC

Dramatics at SRCC has existed since the college itself. It was one of the earliest societies to start and has been the longest running and the by far the most successful society at SRCC. Dramatics Society (DramSoc, hereafter) has been the most vibrant society in college.
We have three main divisions:

• The Street Play
• The English Stage Play
• The Hindi Stage Play
  

The passion to perform and excel in the field of dramatics is the foremost purpose of our existence. Our teams perform at different theatre fests and competitions across Delhi University and have been overwhelmed with the awards and applause. And, we organize the country’s largest annual college theatre festival – Histrionica.

HISTRIONICA:

Histrionica – the annual theatre festival organized by SRCC, started in 2004. It is the only competitive theatre festival of its kind at DU. Teams from all across DU compete across all segments for top honors. Since its inception, Histrionica has been a platform for DU teams to raise burning social issues and a platform for students to express their creativity.

SRCC is the only college in DU that holds a full-fledged competitive festival dedicated to theatre. Carrying forward its legacy of pushing borders, SRCC DramSoc plans to expand Histrionica to a National Level! SRCC DramSoc is leading from the front in making theatre and dramatics part of everybody’s lives. The need for a truly competitive national level theatre fest was felt by veteran theatre experts and SRCC DramSoc is proud to take the initiative.
